Goal
Rebuild the website and drive direct founder conversations
Project overview
Beancount is a US accounting and fractional CFO firm that works only with nonprofits. It is led by its founder with a small team, and most new clients arrive through referrals and recommendations.
The founder already had strong credibility and happy clients, but the website had not been actively managed since 2024. Prospects who looked the firm up after a referral found a site that did not show its professionalism, its niche or how to get in touch.
Our key objective was to transform an inactive website into a trust-building business asset: confirm the founder’s credibility for warm leads and make starting a conversation the obvious next step.
The results
Launched in one month
Founder-led positioning
Direct founder inquiry path
Easy WordPress management
The new website launched on the planned one-month timeline. It now does the job the firm needed: a referred prospect lands, understands what Beancount does for nonprofits, trusts the founder and reaches out.
- Complete redesign and rebuild delivered on schedule
- Single-page structure with a guided reading flow
- Blog and contact pages live
- Visitors now contacting the founder directly through the site
Before: The website had not been managed since 2024. It had a generic design, no clear user journey and little sign of the founder’s credibility, so it did nothing for business development.
After: A modern single-page WordPress site with a guided journey built around trust. It is easy for the firm to update, and it is generating direct founder inquiries.
The execution
The challenge
Fractional CFO work is sold on trust. Most Beancount prospects already know the founder’s name before they visit, so the website’s job is to confirm that trust, not to introduce the firm cold.
The old site could not do that. It looked unprofessional, did not speak to nonprofits and gave visitors no structured path toward contact. A new coat of paint alone would not have fixed the business problem.
The solution
We worked in three phases, so each decision built on the one before.
Phase 1: User journey and brand positioning strategy
We studied how visitors actually arrive and found that most already knew the founder. So we built the strategy around reinforcing credibility and keeping the path to a conversation short, clear and direct.
Phase 2: Website design and direction alignment
We created two complete design directions in Figma and reviewed both with the founder. The chosen direction is clean, modern and warm, with a guided reading flow, generous whitespace and a professional presentation.
Phase 3: WordPress development and launch
We built a single-page WordPress website with dedicated blog and contact pages. WordPress was chosen so the firm can manage its own content. Handover and launch were completed within one month.
Client feedback
“Everything looks smooth, slick and modern.”
